Breach Monitoring

Despite the best efforts, breaches happen. They may happen due to technical, organisational or individual weaknesses or omissions, but whatever the cause you need to know when and what has been breached when breaches occur. Very often confidential information obtained by the criminals ends up on underground "dark web" forums and marketplaces, where stolen confidential data such as credentials, passwords, internal documents, etc. is traded illegally - and when it happens you need to know as soon as possible in order to respond and implement whatever countermeasures may be appropriate.

Danielyan Consulting provides a free breach monitoring service to our current and former clients: hundreds of "dark web" sources such as forums and marketplaces are checked daily for data containing your domain name such as e-mail addresses, URLs, hostnames, etc., and if any such data is identified you are informed of the breach and offered CREST accredited incident response support to contain and minimise the damage to your infrastructure, applications and reputation.

Please note that in certain cases, such as when personal data is involved, you are legally obliged to report the breach to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) without delay. Personal data means any information relating to one or more identified or identifiable natural person. This includes breaches of security leading to accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, unauthorised disclosure of, or access to, personal data.

You can report personal data breaches to the ICO online: Report a breach to the ICO.
